The CT200h takes the cake for me. Composed, classy and the materials are good. None of that silly Mercedes iPad thing, Aud A3 weirdness or BMW 1 series lack of effort.

I've always loved the CT interior, it's 100x nicer looking than the previous gen IS that was rolling around that same period.

Lexus interiors have been really nice as of late.

CT is great. I also love some of the higher-spec Minis, the BMW i3, 2-series, A3 and CLA because IDGAF about the iPad nav systems.

The LAST gen A3 has a pretty bitching int.

Agreed, the CT200h is classy. Lexus probably has the best fake leather. My coworker has one and it is a pleasant place to sit.
However I would vote for the i3. It has innovative use of materials and feels modern and spacious.

I think they have always been very nice, that is how they got big.

A3, I find the Lexus dash to be way overstyled.

I have always been catering towards the Lancia Y. Yes it's a bit MPV like due to the Panda/500 platform but what other properly small car (I'm talking sub 4.000mm small) can you buy with alcantara and shit? Plus the Y practically invented nice interiors in small city cars.
Pictured: The interiors of the last three generations of Lancia Y, in descending order
And yes that's pink Alcantara on the dashboard and seats. Also Cactus

Small car as in inexpensive?
My 2014 Hyundai Elantra cost less then 19k, has heated seats, a backup camera and the plastics, carpet, trim, etc seem acceptable for the price.
I've had it for a year and I have absolutely no squeaks or rattles.

I think it needs more buttons......but only to activate the other buttons.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 16:33 |

Buttons > Touchscreens imo
![]() 03/08/2015 at 16:36 |

But only when you have 750 of them on your steering wheel...the dash is a different beast.
Note: I never said I was anti-button/pro-touchscreen....I just think cluttering up an interior, and the driving experience causes more hassle and distraction than anything else (I'm a designer by nature). There's a limit to what can be done, and how it's done.. For example, I can't stand the Mini interior layout, but I appreciate what they did, and how they put some brand character in it.
Seriously, count all the buttons you see in that screen shot..just for shits and giggles

ROUND AIR VENTS RUIN IT. ESPECIALLY WITH THE LITTLE NIPPLE-LIKE ADJUSTMENT KNOBS.

YES IT LOOKS LIKE A BEMUSED CLOWN.

I like the new new Beetle interior. Especially the Fender edition

Ooooh, a Cactus! I saw my first one on the road yesterday.

Lol, me too. White with black AirBumps® and steelies. Looks pretty low in person.

Mine was black. Black paint, black bumpies, privacy glass.

So you like the 1998 Camry radio you get when you don't option to nav?

Well, if we're talking genuinely small cars, then I think I have to go with the Up! It's delightfully minimal, and can go from subdued and businesslike to fun and cheery with nothing more than a dash of colour.

I poked my head in a new 200 the other day and liked what I saw:

So subtle and pleasant, yes.

It looks better than those "You should have spec'd higher" mini LCD shame screens.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 18:10 |

Maybe not the best quality, but the best looking IMO.

Shameless vote for the Mk7 GTI. (Never mind the RHD layout). And it's even nicer at night with all the ambient lighting.
![]() 03/08/2015 at 19:15 |

And IMO their exteriors have been the exact opposite.

If your looking for something thats as "what you see is what you get" as you can. Nothin fancy.

It's clean, but there are waaaaay too many blank buttons.

Suzuki Kizashi (current ride)
Everything you need - nothing you don't
![]() 03/09/2015 at 13:34 |

oh really? Probably because of its green lighting where the rest of the interior lights are blue or white.

I meant like this:
The "All This Blank Space Because You Didn't Spec Higher" Edition.

much more bearable than 1998 tech, to me
![]() 03/09/2015 at 13:50 |

Except it's not from 1998, it has aux/usb capability, also XM. Plus, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Besides, BMW's wasn't any better.
![]() 03/10/2015 at 00:09 |

I didn't say the tech was from 98, i said the headunit was. That BMW hu isn't half bad, and didn't came from Toyota's parts bin. It had aux, usb, bluetooth calls showed up on the display, fuel stats showed there too... not sure that Lexus' would do that (on the display).

Anyway i didn't came to bitch on the CT w/ nav i think it's okay but far from the best interior. The unit w/o nav is rubbish and laughable IMO and I can't believe that's from a mid $30K kind of car!
